adobefallsfrontdooradobefallssignWhose work you had never seen?
On the recommendation of people you didn’t know?
To remodel a property 1400 miles away?

We took a chance and hired Bob Walker, owner of RK Walker Construction in San Diego, California. We placed incredible trust in this man and couldn’t be happier with the results.  You will be amazed by the before and after photos.

Fireworks are Magical

Have you ever tried to take pictures of fireworks?  It can be a frustrating experience if you use standard photo techniques.  Even when you know what you are doing, it is pretty much a hit-or-miss process.

The MAGIC happens when we have perfect timing and create multiple exposures with streaking lights that look even better than the real thing.  That magic happened for Patty last Saturday night.  She captured the best fireworks photos of her entire life.

Patty’s friend, Chris, owns a mountain home in Indian Hills. From his deck, you can see the fireworks from a unique perspective — looking straight OUT, not up! We just have to share the highlights of the spectacular Fireworks Show put on by the Indian Hills Fire Rescue department.

On May 7, 2009, a new Christian rock group, Sling And A Stone, played their first concert to a packed house at Faith Community Church in Littleton, CO. The group’s name comes from the bible story of David and Goliath. They are on a “Rock-N-Roll mission from God”.

The Dedicated Drummer

img_3063Bryan’s interest in drums began in junior high school — he knew immediately that he was “born to rock”! His parents bougimg_3010ht his first kit for $50 from a professional musician who was down on his luck.

img_3053Bryan practiced hard and developed a style all his own. As an adult, he toured the country and opened for numerous national acts. However, his folks never saw him play professionally.

Last week, after 30 years, Charlie and Nancy finally got the chance to attend one of their son’s concerts. Their faces reflected the joy they felt when they discovered what an accomplished musician he had become! That initial $50 purchase had been a really smart investment that allowed a young man to live his passion.

A Music Dream Come True

Rob performs at concert

What does a young boy do once he’s learned a few chords on guitar?  He forms a band, of course.  They practice in the garage at least once a week and dream of making it big.

Rob’s friends played together for a while.  Since no one had the money for the equipment they needed, the band eventually fizzled out.  Rob continued to study music and eventually became the Music Director for Faith Community Church in Littleton, CO.  But … he always wanted to play in a rock band.

Thursday, Rob sang his heart out at a Christian rock concert with his new band, Sling and a Stone. The large stage had monitors, great sound equipment, and professional lighting. The entire time, Rob grinned from ear to ear like a kid in a candy store.  It was such a pleasure to see his happiness and gratitude that night! We all felt that somehow, we had a small part in helping him make his dream a reality.

When Rob apologetically asked the crowd, “Is it too loud?”  none of us could deny him the pleasure of hearing his music at that volume (but we didn’t ask him to turn it up, either …).

Patty’s First Glider Ride

On January 11, 2009, Patty received her first glider ride. What a thrill! The view from the cockpit is amazing from one of these motorless planes. The plexiglass covering was so clear that it felt like you were just “out in the air”, several thousand feet about the ground. She felt safe in the hands of instructor Quay Snyder and tow pilot Gary Rubus, but could sure feel the “G-force” when we turned.

The Black Forest Soaring Society provides glider rides at Kelly Airpark (located between Denver and Colorado Springs).
